What is The Company of Young Professionals?

The Company of Young Professionals is a leadership development program of The Vancouver Board of Trade, designed specifically for young professionals under the age of 32.

Members can be involved in the program for up to three years.

By joining The Board as a member of The Company of Young Professionals, you will receive several benefits exclusive to CYP members. In addition to a reduced dues structure for membership, you will also be eligible for discounted rates to Board of Trade events and be listed in the annual Roster and Purchasers’ Guide as an individual member. Connectorship, leadership and volunteerism

CYP is based on three pillars: Connectorship, Leadership and Volunteerism.
Connectorship: Become a connected leader. As a CYP member you are able to attend all the networking events The Vancouver Board of Trade has to offer. With over 5,700 members from a wide range of industries and 500 events every year, there are many opportunities to build your professional network.

Leadership: CYP helps young professionals develop their leadership skills. The program has skills-specific events, recommended readings, access to keynote speakers and much more. CYP members also develop the social capital and engagement skills that are so vital for career development.

Volunteerism: Get involved in shaping the future of Metro Vancouver by joining one of The Board’s many committees and task forces. These groups, made up of dedicated Board of Trade members, explore issues that are relevant to Vancouver’s business community, and help steer The Board’s policy direction.

CYP Engaged Leadership Certificate

CYP is a three-year program with two options. The first is to participate in the program and enjoy the member benefits CYP and The Vancouver Board of Trade have to offer.

The second is to participate in the CYP Engaged Leadership Certificate, a three-year continuing education program where young professionals can hone their leadership and engagement skills.
