CYP Shepa Circle

A CYP Shepa Circle is a small group of like-minded CYP members who meet every 4-8 weeks. The purpose is to share information and personal experiences by connecting with a specific objective in mind. CYP Shepa Circles are member-driven. There are typically 5-10 participants at each meeting and each group meets 5-10 times per year.

CYP Shepa Circles are intended to benefit participants, their companies and, ultimately, the broader community. They are formal meetings where CYP members will acquire knowledge, share experiences and develop leadership and connectorship skills. CYP members will learn to become contributing members of the team (bonding), and in time will also learn to effectively connect their network more broadly with others (bridging).

CYP Shepa Circles provide the opportunity to share knowledge with others, but also act as a forum to discuss challenges and personal experiences in business. The groups bring young professionals together to find unique solutions to common barriers. All meetings will be conducted in an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust which allows for an open exchange of information and helps participants become more efficient and effective.

CYP Shepa Circles are intended to create social capital and contribute to developing engaged community leaders. Engaged community leadership is the stated mission of The Vancouver Board of Trade. Shepa Circle groups are formed each summer and new members have the opportunity to join a group throughout the year.
