How does the CYP Engaged Leadership Certificate program work?

The Company of Young Professionals Engaged Leadership Certificate is a three-year continuing education program where young professionals can hone their leadership and engagement skills.

To fulfill the three-year program, participants must:

  • Obtain a minimum of 25 credits per year;
  • Participate on a Board of Trade Committee or Task Force for at least one year;
  • Attend at least one Leadership Skills Bootcamp;
  • Stay current with your membership for all three years; and
  • Submit the Activity Report (PDF) each year for approval of credits.

Credits:

It is possible to carry over credits from one year to another and make up credits if you fall short.

As long as by the end of year three you have a minimum of 75 credits and fulfilled the other requirements listed above, you will obtain your CYP Engaged Leadership Certificate.

If by the end of the third year you have not satisfied all your credits, you can continue on to obtain the final credits required.

Committees and Task Forces:

As a CYP member, you can be involved in either the Community Affairs Committee or the Small Business Council of The Vancouver Board of Trade. Please submit a brief resume/biography to Joyce Fulford at jfulford@boardoftrade.com.

Special exceptions for CYP members to be involved in other Vancouver Board of Trade Committees and Task Forces will be considered; please send a brief note as to why you are interested and a resume to Joyce Fulford at jfulford@boardoftrade.com.
